Utah is attempting to be the first state to designate a "state gun." Last Wednesday, the Utah House of Representatives approved the bill by an overwhelming majority. If enacted into law, the bill will name the Browning M1911 semi-automatic handgun as its “state gun." The legislation was created in an attempt to mark the pistol’s 100th anniversary and honor its creator, John M. Browning, a Utah resident. As expected, the choice has met with a great deal of criticism, especially in the light of the recent shootings in Arizona. The bill now heads to the Utah Senate. (source) - OMG Facts - Your Mind.
